Odisha is also well known for its beautiful temple architecture and several ancient historic monuments. The most popular tourist destination in Odisha is Puri. The Puri sea-beach on the Bay of Bengal that attracts large masses of tourists all year round. The bustling beach offers mouth watering local sea-food, a market selling local handicrafts, sand art and several other modes of fun and frolic.

The Jagannath Temple at Puri is one of the most ancient and sacred Indian pilgrimage sites and the pick tourist season is during the Rath Yatra or Chariot Festival of Lord Jagannath.
